Buying tips

  • Choose the material first Leather hats come in cowhide, suede and kangaroo leather, fold for packing and include a storage bag; canvas hats have a wind cord.
  • Size up one Measure your head with a cloth tape about 1 cm above the ears. BARMAH sizes run slightly small compared with common Asian sizes, so we suggest one size up.
  • Sun protection All models are rated UPF 50+, with a 7–8 cm brim.

How do I care for a leather hat?

Apply leather oil regularly, store it flat and keep it away from heat (such as inside a car). For suede hats, use a suede brush and suede-specific products, not regular leather oil.

Can I wash a canvas hat?

Spot-clean with warm water and a mild detergent; machine washing is not recommended.

Can I fold the hat for travel?

Leather hats can be folded into their storage bag, but avoid leaving them folded for long periods.
