High-strength fixed rope protector: PETZL PROTEC PLUS features a flexible aramid construction designed to protect fixed ropes during work at height or rescue operations, reducing the risk of rope damage from abrasion, sharp edges, or brief contact with heat sources.
Three times the abrasion resistance of the standard PROTEC: Made with aramid material, the PROTEC PLUS offers higher strength and durability; the manufacturer specifies its abrasion resistance is three times that of the standard PROTEC.
Greater resistance to sharp edges: The manufacturer specifies that its resistance to sharp edges is twice that of the standard PROTEC, making it suitable for operations where ropes may come into contact with structural edges, corners, or rough surfaces.
Short-term heat contact resistance: PROTEC PLUS can protect the rope during brief exposure to heat sources, such as hot pipes; the manufacturer specifies it can withstand 200°C for up to 5 minutes, and 650°C for up to 10 seconds during accidental contact with flames.
Magnetic closure for easy operation while wearing gloves: Features a magnetic closure design for simple installation, which can be operated even while wearing gloves; the rope clamp stays securely in place and can be quickly installed onto the rope.
