The manufacturer lists the 0.1 micron hollow fiber stage as effective against bacteria, protozoa and microplastics; the activated carbon improves taste and reduces odor and chlorine. It does not remove viruses, and it is not a seawater desalination device.

Can the activated carbon in the BeFree AC 0.5L Slate Blue handle pesticides or heavy metals?
