Instructions
How to use COGHLAN'S Plastic Grommets
-
Tools you will need:
- COGHLAN'S Plastic Grommets
- Rubber or plastic mallet
- Knife or multi-tool with a blade

-
Step 1: Prepare the Grommet
If you intend to use the grommet on plastic material, use the grommet with the black rubber washer included.
If you are using nylon or thin canvas fabric, remove the rubber washer from the grommet.

-
Step 2: Place the Grommet
Grasp the material where you want to secure the grommet. Align the base of the grommet with the back of the material.
Press the top of the grommet down firmly with your hand to form an initial seal.

-
Step 3: Tap with a Plastic Mallet
Use a plastic or rubber mallet to strike the top of the grommet firmly until it snaps securely onto the base.
Depending on the fabric, this may automatically cut through the material.

-
Step 4: Trim the Fabric
If you are using thicker plastic, nylon, or canvas, you will need to carefully cut a hole the same size as the male part of the grommet. Be careful to cut only the size of the hole needed to allow the grommet to press enough material together.
