Building Community Resilience Starting with Emergency Water: Madbug Outdoor and KATADYN Unveil at Secutech 2026

Mabugu Outdoor Ltd. participated in "Secutech 2026, the 27th Taipei International Security Technology Application Exhibition," showcasing a variety of products related to disaster prevention, emergency response, and outdoor safety. The exhibition focused on the most critical needs after a disaster: "emergency water, food reserves, and personal disaster prevention," demonstrating a long-term commitment to the disaster prevention market and comprehensive solutions for rescue applications.

Secutech 2026 took place from April 22 to 24, 2026, at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, serving as an important exchange platform for security, disaster prevention, and smart technology applications in Asia. This year's exhibition focused on smart security, AIoT, fire safety, access control, industrial applications, and critical infrastructure security, with "Critical Infrastructure Security Protection" as the annual flagship theme, covering nine critical areas: energy, water resources, communications, transportation, finance, emergency rescue, medical care, government agencies, and industrial facilities.

Mabugu Outdoor Equipment showcased a variety of disaster prevention and emergency response products at the exhibition, covering critical needs such as emergency water supply, drinking water purification, and food reserves. Displayed items included the all-water purification equipment Spectra Aquifer 200, Spectra Aquifer 4000, and Katadyn HFD portable watermakers, as well as several KATADYN water purification devices such as Katadyn Rapidyn, Katadyn Micropur purification tablets, and Katadyn Steripen UV water purifiers.

This exhibition also featured a special display of KATADYN's new product, the Katadyn BeFree AC Bottle water filter bottle. This new product combines a portable water bottle with water filtration capabilities, making it suitable for outdoor activities, daily travel, and emergency disaster prevention scenarios. It allows users to conveniently access safe drinking water on the go, further enhancing personal and household water backup capabilities.

In addition, the NRG-5 Emergency Food Ration (German-made) was also showcased at the event, suitable for use as combat rations, emergency rations, and disaster food reserves. From "water access" and "water purification" to "food backup," the display comprehensively presented the critical material allocation required for initial disaster response and medium-to-long-term shelter support, assisting government agencies, businesses, and communities in establishing more comprehensive disaster preparedness.

As the risks of extreme weather, earthquakes, typhoons, power outages, water shortages, and complex disasters increase, emergency water has become an indispensable part of community resilience and disaster preparedness. Disaster response is not solely the responsibility of government agencies and rescue systems; it also requires the participation of communities, businesses, schools, and families. Through rapidly deployable, easy-to-operate, and practical water purification and food storage equipment, the ability to self-rescue and mutual aid after a disaster can be enhanced, reducing the risks posed by water outages, insufficient drinking water, and interrupted supplies.

During the exhibition, Johann Wille, General Manager of KATADYN Asia Pacific, was also invited to give a special presentation titled "Building Community Resilience: Starting with Emergency Water Preparedness." He explained the importance of emergency water preparedness in disaster response systems and shared international market experiences in emergency water supply, disaster backup, and community safety applications. KATADYN has long focused on water purification technologies required for outdoor activities, military and police, rescue, and disaster response. Through this exhibition, we hope to make more Taiwanese government agencies, enterprises, and civil organizations recognize the importance of "preparation in peacetime, use in disasters."

On April 24, 2026, Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim visited the "Secutech 2026, 27th Taipei International Security Technology Application Exhibition" at the Nangang Exhibition Center, and toured the Disaster Resilience Alliance Theme Pavilion to understand the concrete achievements of private enterprises and relevant units in disaster response, emergency material preparedness, and social resilience building.

The Disaster Resilience Alliance Theme Pavilion focuses on various preparations and response capabilities required before and after a disaster, presenting diverse solutions from prevention and backup to disaster support. Mabugu Outdoor Equipment showcased products such as emergency water, water purification equipment, and disaster food reserves in the exhibition area, aligning with the policy direction of comprehensive societal defense resilience and demonstrating the practical actions of private enterprises in participating in the disaster prevention system and assisting in enhancing community and household response capabilities.

After the exhibition, the Vice President also stated that in the face of climate change and various complex challenges, the government will continue to work hand-in-hand with the private sector to strengthen overall social resilience and prepare for a safer future. This direction also aligns with Mabugu Outdoor Equipment's core philosophy of investing in disaster prevention products, emergency water purification equipment, combat rations, and the rescue application market.

Disaster prevention should not remain a mere slogan but needs to be concretely implemented through equipment, education, drills, and daily preparedness. From outdoor adventures to disaster response, safe and reliable water, food, and basic equipment are central to enhancing survival capabilities and response efficiency. In the future, Mabugu Outdoor Equipment will continue to introduce and promote high-quality disaster prevention and outdoor safety products, combining international brand experience with local Taiwanese needs, to assist government agencies, rescue units, corporate organizations, and general households in establishing more comprehensive disaster preparedness.

Mabugu Outdoor Equipment will also continue to promote disaster preparedness awareness through exhibitions, training, product demonstrations, and sharing practical application cases, enabling more people to understand the critical value of "water, food, communication, and equipment" in disaster response, and collectively building a more resilient Taiwanese society through concrete actions.
