114 National Disaster Preparedness Day Drill | Mabugu Outdoor Gear Teams Up with DMAT to Showcase KATADYN Water Treatment Equipment and Emergency Rations
President Lai Ching-te recently visited Yilan to inspect the "2025 National Disaster Prevention Day - Large-Scale Earthquake Mobilization Drill," commending the central and local governments for their high-intensity, multi-hazard drill. He pointed out that regular drills can enhance public awareness and skills in disaster prevention, and also allow society to demonstrate greater resilience when disasters occur.
The President particularly emphasized that the government's promotion of the concept of "all-society defense resilience" not only strengthens the ability to respond to natural disasters such as earthquakes and typhoons, but also attaches importance to the challenges brought by geopolitical changes. He also mentioned the new edition of the "Taiwan All-People Safety Guidelines" handbook, reminding every family to have one and learn how to protect themselves and respond in the event of a disaster.
In this drill, in addition to the participation of the armed forces, the National Fire Agency, and disaster relief representatives from various countries, several disaster prevention technologies and civilian cooperation achievements were also displayed, including water purification, emergency medical care, communication, and logistics support equipment. The President specifically pointed out that water supply is crucial in the post-disaster recovery process, and ensuring the public's safe drinking water needs should be prioritized.
