Gaza Emergency Water Supply Case Study | 4 SPECTRA Aquifer 4000 Units Support Nearly 400 Families

The conflict has put immense pressure on water supply, energy, and aid transport in the Gaza Strip. High-volume water purification equipment that can be quickly transported and directly utilize existing water sources is urgently needed on site.

In June 2024, humanitarian organizations deployed 4 SPECTRA Aquifer 4000 units to establish mobile drinking water supply for nearly 400 families. Each unit can produce up to approximately 16,000 liters of drinking water per day.

供水基礎設施受壓下的需求|The Challenge

According to the original case, the conflict has made access to drinking water and aid supplies more difficult in the area. There is not only a lack of clean drinking water, but also a shortage of stable electricity, transportation, and fixed water treatment facilities.

Therefore, the equipment must be high-yielding, portable, have manageable power requirements, and be capable of treating water sources of varying salinity to quickly establish supply when infrastructure is insufficient.

Each Aquifer 4000 unit can produce up to approximately 16 cubic meters, or about 16,000 liters, of drinking water per day. The system can process fresh, brackish, and seawater, allowing for configuration based on available raw water conditions.

The equipment is designed with separate components, can be transported by two people, and can operate with a small generator of approximately 3.5 kW. Compared to continuous bottled water delivery, on-site water production allows transportation capacity to be concentrated on initial equipment, fuel, consumables, and distribution facilities, with continuous production using local water sources thereafter.

Aquifer 4000 的任務定位|About the Product

The Aquifer 4000 is a land-based reverse osmosis water purification system designed for humanitarian aid, disaster response, and mobile water supply. Its high output and ability to be transported in separate cases allow it to bridge the gap between small personal devices and large fixed water plants, quickly filling water supply gaps in communities and shelters.

馬布谷觀察

When roads and public facilities are under pressure, the key to water supply resilience shifts from "how much water can be transported in" to "whether water can be continuously produced on-site."

The value of deploying the Aquifer 4000 lies in establishing near community-scale water production capacity with portable equipment, reducing the risk of aid being entirely dependent on daily logistical support.

Water production equipment still requires a complete set of supporting elements, including raw water intake, pre-treatment, power supply, storage, distribution, water quality monitoring, consumables, and operators. The maximum daily output is a starting point for planning; the true water supply capacity depends on the continuous operation of the entire system.
