The brand story of HILLEBERG, the world’s top tent

Hilleberg is known as the king of tents in Europe. The design of the tent's inner tent and canopy is integrated, which not only facilitates erection, but also shortens the erection time.
As early as 1995, it had been selected as the best tent by the European industry.
Hilleberg's tents are surprisingly lightweight and strong, and have been chosen by many alpine and polar expeditions over the years.

About Bo Hilleberg

In 1971, Bo Hilleberg, a professional forester, founded his own company – Hilleberg AB.

In the same year, founder Bo met his future wife Renate Neuner during a ski trip in Tyrol, Austria. They met and fell in love, and after getting married, Renate moved to Stockholm, Sweden. And their marriage is an indispensable factor in making Hilleberg the Tentmaker.

About Hilleberg the Tentmaker

Before meeting Renate, the company at the start-up stage initially focused on the production of forestry equipment, and listed tents as one of its branch production projects.

Today's tents have been stereotyped into inner and outer tents, and it is usually necessary to set up the inner tent first and then cover it with the outer tent to protect the rain. As an outdoor person who has been full of energy throughout his life, Bo felt very frustrated by this. He often hoped and imagined that the inner and outer tents of the tent could be erected at the same time, but he did not have the sewing skills to realize this ideal design.

The marriage of Bo and Renate just completed their careers. Renate was responsible for producing actual products, while Bo was in charge of design and sales. Under this division of labor, their company grew stronger.

Today, the connection between the family and the business is inseparable. Bo is already the CEO and is still responsible for design and R&D, while his daughter Petra is in charge of the company's markets outside Europe. Bo's family of four worked together to build the company. A successful foundation.
