Indonesia's BRIMOB expands mobile drinking water vehicles | SPECTRA LB-1800 supports disaster water supply
In addition to large drinking water trucks, the Indonesian Mobile Brigade Corps (BRIMOB) further integrated SPECTRA LB-1800 with Isuzu D-Max off-road pickup trucks to establish mobile water supply units that can more easily access remote villages and narrow roads.
This system builds on the deployment experience of the LB-2800 trucks in 2020, allowing for different vehicles to be chosen for drinking water treatment capabilities based on road conditions, mission scale, and water source availability.

Full Water Treatment Process in an Off-Road Pickup Truck
The vehicle-mounted system includes 120 and 50 micron pre-filtration, activated carbon filters, water softening treatment, SPECTRA LB-1800 reverse osmosis water production equipment, and terminal UV disinfection. It can treat fresh water, brackish water, or seawater depending on the on-site conditions.

Large Trucks and Off-Road Vehicles for Different Roads
The larger LB-2800 drinking water trucks are suitable for cities and missions requiring higher water supply volumes; the off-road pickup trucks can access villages with difficult transportation, narrow roads, or damaged infrastructure. The two do not replace each other but rather form a tiered water supply configuration for different levels of mobility.

From 9 Provinces to a More Complete National Configuration
Case data indicates that BRIMOB has deployed 18 trucks equipped with KATADYN-SPECTRA LB-2800 across 9 provinces including Sumatra, Java, and Central Sulawesi, and has added 4 off-road pickup trucks equipped with LB-1800. The long-term goal is for each of Indonesia's 38 provinces to have 2 to 4 drinking water vehicles.
During the Sumatra floods, LB-2800 vehicles began producing water within hours of the crisis, generating approximately 440 liters per hour, supporting about 5,000 residents around Pariaman/Padang.

Mabugu's Observation: Mobile water supply cannot solely pursue the maximum output of a single unit. Large trucks, off-road pickup trucks, different water source treatment, and distribution-end equipment form a multi-tiered system that can rapidly deploy in cities, villages, and areas with damaged roads.
