              3. inReach Mini2 must transmit signals in the open sky. Do not place it in your pocket or backpack, which may cause poor signal quality.

                    7. Basic operations

The core function of Garmin inReach is to send messages via satellite and stay connected when there is no mobile phone signal. When used with Garmin Messenger, the functions are the same as ordinary communication software when there is an Internet connection. When there is no Internet connection, important messages can be sent via satellite.
Note: In addition to default SMS, any message sent or received via satellite will incur additional charges.

Default SMS (report messages, completely free)

Before sending three fixed text messages to MapShare, you can turn off the mobile phone network to test whether they are successfully sent to the dedicated tracking URL .

                        Customized two-way messages

Customizable text messages can be sent to:

                        1. GARMIN Messenger APP (most recommended)
                        2. MapShare (send to tracking URL)
                        3. phone number
                        4. Email

When sending two-way messages, it is recommended that on-site team members and support staff use the Garmin Messenger tool, which is more user-friendly in identifying real-time messages. This is a public account. Please do not send private information.

GARMIN Messenger APP inReach has preset all devices as contacts, which can be used more when two groups of team members need to communicate with each other when on duty.
